The global drift of customization for customer satisfaction in the corporate world has affected the contemporary education and resulted in tailor-made ESP courses. Currently, the growing fashion of these need-based courses and trainings have augmented the significance and call for course evaluation. As all the stakeholders affect the course designing, so their approval determines the effectiveness of course. The purpose of this two-phase, mix method study is to examine the efficacy of the course conducted at HBL, Pakistan, and to propose a course catering the professional needs of the bank employees. Using the descriptive and single experimental group design, the author appraises the document adopted as training resource and the participants feedback responses about it. These responses are analysed finding frequency, percentage and mean. A thorough needs analysis is indispensable for course designing. Hence, the author conducts TNA and pilots the proposition to confirm its concordance with target situation needs of the professionals. The Curriculum assessment has been an important tool in measuring the effectiveness of the curriculum to evaluate graduate learning perception. This study was to evaluate how the curriculum of Hotel and Catering Management Program at the Sultan Idris Shah Polytechnic, Malaysia contributes to the graduates future career. The data was gathered by conducting a survey questionnaire that was distributed to the graduates and by conducting an interview session, this study examines the skills that are contributed to graduates in facing the hospitality industry. Findings of this study maybe useful as a value added for Hotel and Catering Program provider and hospitality industry.
The hospitality and catering industry suffers from a decreasing workforce, not sufficiently well qualified to meet the needs of a growing industry which already contributes significantly to the economic wealth of nations. The study arises out of the above need and ultimately seeks to address the complex question of how the hospitality and catering industry came to be in the position it is in and further, how we might move to a better future. This research study is mainly focussing on five themes. Firstly, identify the trends in relation to the number of qualified students entering the hospitality industry. Secondly, study of the perception and image of the hospitality industry amongst young people, parents and career advisers. Thirdly, examine the perception of the industry's role in the delivery of Vocational Education and Training in the hospitality and catering industry. Fourthly, compare the standard of Vocational Education and Training system with six similar European and Anglophone countries. Finally, indicate the ways in which the quality of the curriculum for the hospitality and catering industry can be improved, especially in terms of vocational and professional skills.
